SAL QUOTE and POEM indexes coming soon! |
In the spirit of subject "INDEXES," which we have published over the past several weeks, we would like to add a couple of additional COLLECTIONs to this growing file database of SAL-related reference material.
The first is an INDEX of SAL-related QUOTES.
The second is an INDEX of SAL-related POEMS.
These SAL-related quotes and poems appear in past blogs and/or the
SAL Textbooks,
Volumes I &
Volume II. Future quotes and poems utilized in articles and/or books-to-come will then be added to indexes as they are published.
I must give credit where credit is due for these particular INDEXes, and that credit belongs to my dear Aunt Nedra, my Dad's younger sister.

Nedra Jensen Bunker of Monticello, Utah, raised her family right across the cul-de-sac from my home in Monticello, which is where I spent 11 of my first 19 years in the world.
Nedra's sons—my first cousins—were among my best friends growing up and we spent countless hours together in and around her home adventuring, playing games and sports, watching movies, and eating wonderful meals (Nedra is a fabulous cook). In short, Nedra was—and still is—like a second mother to me. Indeed, to this day I still maintain regular contact with her.
Avid readers of the Freedom Focused blog may remember me writing about how, when I was growing up, Aunt Nedra had a plaque on her wall containing
Thomas Jefferson's 10 Rules for Life, and how that plaque inspired me as a little boy—and then later influenced my composition of
Dr. JJ's 13 Rules for Life that were published at length on the Freedom Focused blog the past couple of years.

Some time ago, my Aunt Nedra had a great idea that she shared with me. Said she: "You know, Jordan, I love all the great quotes you include in your blogs. You should collect them all together and publish them in a book of quotes."
I agreed with Aunt Nedra that this was a good idea.
The problem with this plan, however, is that I've been publishing books for the better part of 20 years and nobody buys them (LAUGHING). Consequently, it didn't make much sense to publish another book at this particular point in time.
However, I really do love Aunt Nedra's idea about collecting all of the SAL quotes from my books and blogs and putting them together in one, easy-to-access location. And what better place to do this than in one of our Freedom Focused Blog INDEXes, which anyone can access at anytime, from anywhere, forever into the future... for FREE! Besides, a lot more people read my blogs than buy my books.

"Money, money, money, must be funny, in the rich man's world." - ABBA |
I recognize I won't directly make any money from doing it this way, but to be honest, money has never been a primary motivator for me in the work I do in my personal or professional life. To me, money is little more than a means-to-a-given-end. Thus, in the end, I really don't care much about money beyond the utility and freedom it provides me to survive, thrive, travel and chase my dreams, and contribute positively to the lives of others.
Don't get the wrong idea... I recognize the essential nature of money in this world in which we presently live. Unless you plan on living off the land or somehow surviving in the woods for the rest of your life, then you have to rely on at least a modicum of money to survive.
In the sage and pithy parlance of Zig Ziglar: "Money isn't everything, but it ranks right up there with oxygen."

For better or for worse, I have spent much of my life "Broke as a Joke" |
I learned this great truth the hard way... you know—by bouncing a dozen-or-so checks, flirting with that horrendous harem of bankruptcy, apartment eviction, and auto repossession, and then spending a half-dozen years paying back a full-dozen creditors and another decade rebuilding my shattered credit.
It's safe to say that MONEY—whether making or managing it—has never been my strong suit. So take my advice and be wiser with your money than I was with mine, or do what I did and find someone who can help you.
Fortunately, the Good Lord blessed me with a wonderful and intelligent wife whose financial quotient is as savvy as mine is scary—and we've been on an upward financial trajectory ever since we got together back in 2007.
Having struggled financially and/or been in debt for my entire life until about ten years ago, I understand the importance of money more than those who have not faced similar experiences. But I have also come to believe that money only really matters when you
don't have enough of it. Once you are secure and comfortable financially, the
love of money really can be, as the Good Book points out, "the root of all evil." As such, I try not to think too much about money, partly because my wife is much better at earning and managing it than I am, and partly because I'd like to apply the lesson I learned from my horrendous financial harem previously mentioned
and avoid any future flirtations with evil and its roots, trunk, or branches.
Suffice it to say, I really don't care about making money from publishing a book of quotes, but I do LOVE my Aunt Nedra's idea of collecting and collating all those nuggets of wisdom that percolate throughout the ever-growing cannon of material I have published in the past, whether in book or blog form.
As readers review these ever-growing collections of quotes and poems, they will come to better understand and apply the SAL message we are striving diligently to share with the world. And in the end, that's all that really matters to me.
So: Drumroll...........................
NEXT WEEK—February 1, 2023—we will publish the Freedom Focused SAL Quote Index.
And the following week—February 8, 2023—we will publish the Freedom Focused SAL Poem Index
Stay tuned!
