CONSTITUTION Article VIII: Agent Code of Conduct

This week's post continues the publication of the Freedom Focused Corporate Constitution by sharing ARTICLE VIII: Agent Code of Conduct.

  • When conducting business as an Agent or representative of Freedom Focused Corporation, persons at all levels will demonstrate world-class INTEGRITY, DECORUMMODESTY, and PROFESSIONALISM in speech, action, dress, grooming, attitude, demeanor, and disposition.
  • When not conducting official business as an Agent or representative of Freedom Focused, individuals are invited and encouraged to be law abiding citizens who wisely continue to uphold the FF Corporate Motto by exemplifying the principles and tenets of the SAL Theory & Model in heed of one's conscience in all of one's personal decisions and interpersonal interactions and relationships. This invitation is extended in the spirit of the great truism taught by Gandhi: "You cannot do right in one department of life whilst attempting to do wrong in another department; life is one indivisible whole." Knowing that one's personal decisions influence and affect one's professional work, we expect our Agents and representatives to govern themselves wisely, discreetly, and morally (to the best of their ability) wherever they are and whatever they are doing.
  • FF Agents are sharp, honest, proactive
    professional, and results-oriented.

All Freedom Focused Agents will refrain from using illegal drugs of any kind. Infractions of this policy will result in immediate termination. Issues arising from the use of legal drugs that negatively impact an Agent's job performance will be addressed with disciplinary measures (up to and including termination) and will be levied at the discretion of an Agent's supervising officers.
  • Freedom Focused Agents are expected to be law-abiding citizens of whatever nation, state, county, and municipality, etc., in which they reside. Extra-organizational legal indictments will result in interorganizational disciplinary measures (up to and including termination) at the discretion of the Inspector General's Office in consultation with one's supervising officers.

Our presentation of the Freedom Focused Corporate Constitution will continue NEXT week with ARTICLE nine (9): Statues of Authority, Chains of Command, and Organizational Structure.

  1. Vision and Mission
  2. Rules
  3. Oaths of Office
  4. Pledges of Allegiance and Corporate Anthem, Flag, and Salute

CONSTITUTION Article I: Corporate VISION & MISSION

Like the words "Leadership" and "Management," the terms "Vision" and "Mission" sometimes get conflated, or are even used as synonyms.

But are they?

At Freedom Focused, we define these two terms differently and distinctly as follows:

Vision

What you want your organization to ultimately look like and be like at its very best in the future.

Mission

What you want your organization to accomplish and influence in the ultra-long run.

In other words, a personal, relational, departmental, or organizational VISION is a picture of the future—a snapshot of an ideal long-term state of being. A MISSION, on the other hand, is an ultra-long term goal.

So...

What exactly is OUR VISION and MISSION at Freedom Focused

We are glad you asked!

It's actually surprisingly brief. And its brevity is perhaps surpassed only  by its audacity.

But we will never apologize for our vision; nor will we ever retreat from our mission.

Instead, we will never rest until we have accomplished our VISION and MISSION, no matter how challenging and time consuming it may prove to be. And it has already proven to be a ponderously difficult undertaking. But that is a good thing, because that is the kind and degree of adversity required to make all of us worthy of our posts as AGENTS of Freedom Focused.

Freedom Focused VISION

To Become the Premier Private
Educational Institution and Soft-Skills Training Provider in the World.

Freedom Focused MISSION

To qualitatively change Western Culture to more fully reflect our Governing Values, which include:

  • Personal Responsibility
  • Integrity
  • Hard Work
  • Freedom
  • Growth
  • Service

We accomplish our mission by filling the world with SELF-ACTION LEADERS.

CONSTITUTION Article II: Corporate Rules

There are RULES for LIFE...

And there are RULES for WORK.

At Freedom Focused, all leaders, managers, trainers, and builders (including myself) are expected to live by certain rules, standards, and codes of conduct. Persons desiring a position of employment at Freedom Focused must commit to live by these RULES in conjunction with passing all required interviews and tests.

This article also serves as a segue from our discussion of life rules into a presentation of the Freedom Focused Declaration of Independence and Constitution, two documents that are both seminal and preeminent in guiding the cognitive, behavioral, philosophical, and cultural workings of the organization. Like the United States of America, Freedom Focused derives its power from its Agents (The People) as they adhere and otherwise uphold the principles, practices, and tenets contained in the Freedom Focused Corporate Constitution

The Freedom Focused Corporate Constitution, or FFCC, has thirteen articles. These articles clearly and explicitly articulate key elements of the organization such as:
  1. Vision and Mission
  2. Corporate Rules
  3. Oaths of Office
  4. Organizational Pillars
  5. Pledges of Allegiance and Corporate Anthem
  6. Values and Standards
  7. Core Paradigms
  8. Code of Conduct
  9. Statues of Authority, Chains of Command, and Organizational Structure
  10. Corporate By-Laws and Operating Procedures
  11. Long-term Goals
  12. Projected Growth Trajectories and Intended Revenue Streams
  13. Dr. JJ's 13 Rules for Living

Article II contains EIGHT (8) corporate rules that Freedom Focused Agents (leaders, managers, trainers, and builders) are expected to follow. These rules are as follows:

Freedom Focused

Corporate Rules

Rule 1:  I am always Responsible.

It may not always be my fault, but if it is my problem, it is my responsibility to take ownership of the situation and create solutions.

Rule 2:  Integrity is Everything.

I am continually honest withand true toothers. Just as importantly, I am continually honest with (and true to) myself.

Rule 3:  I Want to Be Here.

I work at Freedom Focused because it is where I want to work.  If I ever lose that desire, I am at complete liberty to work elsewhere.

Rule 4 I Animate and Personify Self-Action Leadership.

Both inside and outside of the organization, I animate the essence of the SAL Theory, Model, and Philosophy in my appearance, attitude, conduct, and relations.  The SAL Textbook is my secular guide to living and working.  Freedom Focused is a synergistic sum of its parts, and I am a vital part of that sum.

Rule 5:  Elite Followership precedes elite Leadership.

As a FF Agent, I have a deep respect for authority and continually seek to promote, support, honor, and learn from my supervisors at every level of the organization.

Rule 6:  Elite Leadership is Servant Leadership.

FF is a T.E.A.M. of teams.  As a FF Supervisor, I appreciate and recognize the vital contributions and worth of my subordinates.  I promote open dialogue in an effort to seek the input and feedback of subordinates in making wise decisions that benefit everyone involved.

Rule 7:  The Gold Standard is my Standard.

At every level and in every endeavor, my standard is EXCELLENCE and my planning, preparation, patience, and performance is ELITE. In setting expectations, I never overpromise and underdeliver; I always underpromise and overdeliver.

Rule 8:  I am Proud to Be a FF Agent, and I live to Build, Serve, and Teach.

As a FF Agent, my primary motivator is not money or personal aggrandizement.  I value being part of an organization that cares about me and the world-at-large. I take positive pride in my affiliation with FF. As an active expression of my gratitude for the opportunity to be part of this unique company, I live and work to make a positive difference in the lives of those I serve both inside and outside of the organization.  My family, community, nation, and world are better places because I live and work at Freedom Focused.

Exciting Announcement!

Attention: Family, Friends, Neighbors, StudentsColleagues, and Fellow Citizens

As the Founder and CEO of Freedom Focused LLC, I am pleased to announce some exciting news regarding the Freedom Focused Blog.

The Freedom Focused BLOG

is now a Standardized WEEKLY Publication!

Beginning last Wednesday, the Freedom Focused BLOG is now published Once-Per-Week, EVERY WEDNESDAY.

We are living through a time of great trouble and turmoil. Moving forward, the Freedom Focused BLOG will serve as a weekly pedagogical proclamation of Peace, Positivity, Productivity, and Possibility.

Previously, the FF Blog served an ancillary and peripheral role in the growth and progress of the organization and was published more randomly and sporadically as corporate needs arose.

No more!

From this point onward, this platform will serve a seminal and fundamental role in the message and mission of Freedom Focused.

As such, you can expect to receive a  FREE  Self-Action Leadership-oriented article in your email inbox EVERY WEDNESDAY morning forever into the future—or for as long as I have something to say about it; and I plan to serve in my current role until the year 2040.

Our Vision and Mission at Freedom Focused is simple in theory, even if it is not always easy in actual practice: we aim to change the world by qualitatively and substantively increasing the personal and professional GROWTH and FREEDOM of individuals everywhere. How do we plan to accomplish this? Through life-changing character education initiatives and substantive life leadership and personal management training.

Meaningful macro changes don't happen overnight. I've been working to build Freedom Focused since 2003, and am personally committed to at least two more decades at the helm of this exciting new training organization. Big changes occur only when individuals take many small, but meaningful actions over long-periods of time.

Nearly three-quarters of a century ago, my Grandfather spoke to a group of university students at the end of World War II—another time of great trouble and turmoil.

In his speech, he said something of great significance.

And I quote:

"Not infrequently you hear this: 'What can I do to help world peace? Here I am, one lone, miserable individual. I cannot have any influence. I cannot do anything which will help. I am powerless.'
"That, of course, is just nonsense, for the peace of the world rests upon the collective individuals in the world; it does not rest upon nations; it rests upon the individuals in those nations. Do not think that your lives are unimportant. Do not think for a moment that you can exert no influence because you are young or because you are few.
"We have got to get away from the foolish notion that quantity is the important thing in influence. You know you can go into the laboratories on this campus and you will find that very minute amounts of particular substances can exert tremendous influences. One individual courageously choosing his own conduct in face of all odds, doing right, can exert a tremendous influence. Let us choose so that every event that comes into our lives will be enriching so that we will be bigger than any event, come whatever calamity may. We can so choose that it will not destroy us. [Each of us] can have FREEDOM in his own sphere. Each can contribute importantly to FREEDOM."

Have you ever felt that way? That you are one, lone, miserable individual and there is nothing you can do to help world peace, or any other macro movement leading to positive change? If so, I invite you to become acquainted with the message of Self-Action Leadership and FREEDOM by reading this BLOG each Wednesday moving forward into the future. And if you want to take a BIG step beyond that, then I invite you to SHARE this BLOG with your family members, friends, neighbors, and colleagues and invite them to sign up for it also.

It's a pretty good deal when you think about it.  For the price of $0.00, you can access a weekly blog written by an author who: has published SIX (6) books and hundreds of articles in newsprint, academic, and other periodicals, has a bachelor's degree in English, a doctoral degree in education, over 4,000 hours of professional training experience throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and 41 years of varied and unique life experiences, including successfully confronting and managing mental illness, deep relational obstacles, and profound professional difficulties.

To sign up, please email freedomfocused@gmail.com and say SUBSCRIBE, or just YES, and we will ensure you receive a link to each new blog article every Wednesday.

What Happens When I Fail?

When personal leadership pundits, like myself, write on the subject of goal setting, we typically focus on the importance of setting goals, as well as the satisfaction and benefits that result from accomplishing them. But there are other lessons to be learned from the process. These “other” lessons are sometimes counterintuitive to the virtues of traditional goal setting. Today’s post is about some of these less-heralded lessons.
